Air Quality Signal (MF420-IR Mobile)

The Air Quality Signal has been designed especially to monitor the ambient air quality in interiors. It determines, by using a specific two-beam infrared photometer (NDIR) , developed and produced our company, the absolute CO2 concentration in the ambient air (atmospheric partial pressure). The device is constantly self-monitoring. The system reports malfunctions of hardware and software and is low-maintenance under normal applications thanks to the NDIR technology - we recommend at least an annual inspection.

The air quality signal can be mounted on the wall or simply placed on a shelf and is equipped with an AC adapter for power supply. An installation by a specialist is not required. A traffic-light function, via three LEDs indicates the carbon dioxide concentration in the air and thus the air quality.

Measuring ranges and threshold values

The Air Quality Signal measures the CO₂ concentration between 0-3000 ppm.

The standard threshold values are configured in accordance with the recommendation of the German Federal Environmental Agency.

< 1500 ppm	LED green
1500 ppm to < 2500 ppm	LED yellow
2500 ppm to < 3000 ppm	LED red
> 3000 ppm	LED red flashing

The threshold values can be factory customized individually, within their measuring range, according to customer requirements.
When exceeding the first threshold value (1500 ppm) a short audible signal will sound and the LED light turns from green to yellow. If the second threshold value (2500 ppm) is exceeded, the LED light turns from yellow to red and the device again triggers an audible alarm. If the third threshold value (3000 ppm) is exceeded, the red LED flashes continuously. If the CO₂ concentration falls below the first threshold, the device goes back to the ground state and the green LED lights up again.

Optionally the air quality signal can be ordered with an integrated data logger for recording of the measurements.

Data Logger

At the product MF420-IR mobile with data logger, readings for later analysis on a PC can be stored. Measurement values can be stored up to one week in a 60-second clock pulse. The accompanying analysis software provides the ability to display the data graphically or to export for post-processing into a spreadsheet program.

Certifications

The device complies with the generic standards EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 and thus the EMC Directive 2004/108/EC.

Maintenance and service

The device thanks to its NDIR-Technology is low-maintenance - we recommend at least an annual inspection.
